An example of satire was the cause of the war between the Small-Enders and the Big-Enders. This war started because one day the King was breaking an egg - at the big end. It broke and the egg splattered all over him. The next day he made a law stating everyone had to break their eggs at the small end. A group of rebels decided that they didn't want to break their eggs at the small end and so started the war. This war lasted for years and years and decades and decades until Gulliver came and won it for the Small-Enders.
If you thought that outrages incident was strange you have yet to be amazed. This tradition was from the place that fought the war above. It was to decide the rank of a person in parliament. What you had to do was either jump over or go under a stick that the King held out. the better you went over or under it the higher rank you got.
The Whinims and the Yahoos
Another prime example of satire used in Gulliver's Travels is the story of the Whinims and the Yahoos. The Yahoos were somehow related to humans as the Whinims with horses, and they both shared an island.
When Gulliver first appeared on the island he saw the Yahoos - and was disgusted. He was chased by a bunch of disgusting, curious Yahoos until eventually a female Whinim named Maiden(?) rescued him and took him back to their home. Gulliver later realised that the Whinims were the most superior race of creatures - more advanced than humans (In the sense that they had no enemies and hated nothing). They could communicate in their own little language, but that didn't stop them from learning the English language in a flash.
The Yahoos were horrible creatures that did nothing useful in their short pathetic lives. All they did was eat, sleep, fight, mate, and dig for diamonds. Gulliver however did bare a resemble to them. But only on the outside. The Yahoos had hardly any brains, affection or thoughtfulness. When Gulliver dick returned to England he said "It took months before I could look into a mirror and not be ashamed of being human." You can understand why.
So in ending to this essay I say

as the Yahoos, well they were only human.
