Things are changing gradually. But back to the age of curiosity, I surely didn't know how dangerous it was until I got burned.

Fairy tales, legends, different kind of stories are the main keys to update a child's mind at the age of receiving and understanding information. He/she understands characteristics of a character from what he/she is being told by their parents, but he/she does not have capability to analyze what, why, when and how. I remember what my mother used to tell me about my uncle when I was young. She said that my uncle was really scary. If I did not behave myself well enough, she would tell him to hurt me. I was so scared hearing that. I thought he was a bad guy, because of the facts my mother told me about him. So I never reached near him, talked to him or even looked at him until he said so. I was afraid, especially being around him. I feared that he would hurt me someday. I did not feel comfort when he was there, in my house, or anywhere I heard of his name or his voice. After all those years living near him and more information about him had been discovered. And as I'm getting older, I had capability to analyze those information so called scary and know what my mother had told me were untrue. He was not as scary as my mother had told me. He was a good uncle. Then I came to realize that my mother used him as excuses to discipline me as well as other mothers do that to make their children not to behave mischievously. Through those years of age, I started having a better capability of analyzing facts and realizing things around me through my senses including the sense of emotion.

At the age of schooling, a child starts practicing to learn things. An important stage in collecting information toward life on his/her own through readings, writings and drawings, books and stuffs, through teachers and friends and the environment he/she is in. I remember I wasn't sleeping that well because of waiting for the first day of school to come. I was so happy but shaky also. I was happy because I was going to school, meeting new friends, learning how to write, read, draw and having fun. I was shaky because I never knew how it was, did not know what will be going on. I was shy and afraid as well as the others because that was also their first day. So much thing was going on in that class it was so noisy because of crying, shouting, laughing as she, the teacher, taking attendance. I can't wait for the next day of school to come, but I was afraid today will be gone.

I started learning alphabetical order on the second day. It was new to me but so interesting, because I thought that I would have spelled my name right and other words as well. I thought it was easy to learn and recognize but those were just pictures to me with different pronunciations. It was a totally new, which I had to learn. I kept reading it when I got home, when I ate and even when I slept. Days kept passing by and I kept learning new things. A table was not just a simple table I used to think. Now I knew what it was made of. How table was written and what it was really for. Not only table, but also other items being learned and recognized and new information will be collected as well.

Year by year, older and older, I was developing into a better mind of thinking. Those I used think "Batman, Superman" to me now were just frictional characters. Through what I had learned "Santa Claus" does not exist. New things and information are being absorbed as time passing me by. My views toward things keep changing, but of course, basic characteristics of things are not changed. Things are being taught in school, through reading books and all kind of other practices such as mathematic, physics, chemistry etc. but that's not all. Things are also being taught through involving the everyday life in society such as working, volunteering and communicating. Society, in the other word environment is an important issue that's leading to a change in people's views, opinion and even people themselves. They are changing because they are absorbing new things. They are changing because they are collecting new information. They are changing to fit themselves in the everyday life of working, thinking and communicating such called society. And so am I. I am changing because society is changing, because fitting myself into that environment. I never realize that society was such a complex issue until my views toward it have been changed.

Another example that a small box, which is containing the electronic components and a monitor, so called computer, to me it was for playing games. Nothing to do other than that after every single day of school. I played different kinds of games such as solitaire, hearts, free cell and others. I thought it was nothing else, but just that for playing game until the day I had a computer class in school. It came surprising me that…it can do more than just playing games and in facts I realized that it was an important piece of machine that would change everyday life of work so much easier to do. Now I know that it has much more important characteristics toward life in society today.

As time passing by, as age getting older, my opinions, thoughts and views toward things surrounding me have different aspects of critical thinking. They are and will be changing.
